When you write, it helps to include your iPhone model (for example "iPhone 15") and what happened just before the problem. A screenshot helps too.

Purchases

I bought "The whole island" but the story is still locked
  1. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you bought it with.
  2. In the game, tap Menu (top right) and then Restore purchase. (It's also on the "Chapter 2 complete" card.)
  3. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the date of the purchase. Please don't send your receipt's payment details.
Where do I buy the rest of the story?

Any time: tap Menu → Unlock the whole island. It's also offered when your fifth castaway moves in and the village gathers by the fire. It's one purchase, for good: three more castaways and the lighthouse festival.

I got a new phone or reinstalled the game

The unlock belongs to your Apple ID, so you never pay twice. Open Menu → Restore purchase on the new install.

Can my family use the unlock?

Yes. The unlock supports Family Sharing. Anyone in your Apple Family Sharing group can install Castaway Lighthouse, open Menu → Restore purchase, and get the whole island at no extra cost. If it doesn't appear, check that purchase sharing is turned on in your Family Sharing settings.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I don't want my child to make purchases

Use Screen Time: Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → iTunes & App Store Purchases. With Family Sharing you can also turn on Ask to Buy.

Your island

Where is my island saved?

On your device. It saves as you play, and Menu → Save island saves it right away. There's no account or cloud save, so nothing about you is stored online. If you use iCloud Backup, your island comes back when you restore that backup onto a new iPhone.

I deleted the app and lost my island

Deleting the app deletes its saved island, unless you restore it from a device backup. Your purchase isn't lost: use Restore purchase to unlock the whole island again.

Playing

How do I give my castaways work?

Tap a person, then tap a source (a tree, a rock, the wreck) or a build site. They repeat the job by themselves until you give them another. They also eat, rest and wash when they need to.

What happens while I'm away?

Your castaways carry on for a little while and look after themselves, so there's a bit of progress waiting when you come back.

Motion, sound and vibration

The Menu has Reduced camera motion, separate Sound and Music switches, and Haptics.

Does it need the internet?

No. Castaway Lighthouse plays fully offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore the unlock. The game also sends a few anonymous counts when it's online (see the privacy policy).
